Virginia Tech Triples Courtside Inventory, Adds Loge Seating at Cassell Coliseum
Individual courtside seats replace tables for basketball and wrestling, while new loge seats add a premium option above the team tunnel.
Virginia Tech Athletics is replacing courtside tables at Cassell Coliseum with individual, NBA-style seats and adding loge seating for the 2026–27 basketball season. The new configuration will increase courtside inventory from 56 to 176 seats.
The baseline and sideline changes apply to men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and wrestling. A second row of court-level seats will be raised to preserve sightlines. Courtside patrons will retain in-seat food and drink service; men’s basketball courtside buyers will also get access to a new hospitality area before games and at halftime once ACC play begins.
“We are committed to finding new and innovative ways to enhance the Virginia Tech Gameday Experience for Hokie Nation while making strategic investments that position our athletics department for long-term success. The premium seating enhancements at Cassell Coliseum represent another important step forward, providing our fans with exciting new ways to experience the energy and atmosphere of Hokie basketball and wrestling while generating critical resources to support our student-athletes and programs.” — Brian White, Vice President and Director of Athletics, Virginia Tech
For basketball, the new loge seating sits above the team tunnel. It includes swivel chairs, tabletop space for food and drinks, service from premium hospitality staff and access to an exclusive hospitality area starting with ACC play.
The upgraded seats are scheduled to debut in November. Virginia Tech says it will begin with rental courtside chairs while permanent seats are produced. Buyers can purchase courtside seats in pairs, with a limit of four seats per account. The athletics department will contact interested donors in priority-rank order.
The university has opened an interest form for the new seating options. It has not posted public pricing in the announcement or premium-seating FAQ.
