Orioles to Replace 2,000 Camden Yards Seats With Left-Field Social Space

The Baltimore Orioles will convert part of the left-field upper deck at Oriole Park at Camden Yards into a social space, removing approximately 2,000 seats. The team estimates the ballpark’s adjusted seating capacity at 40,234 when the project is complete.

Planned features include drink rails, standing-room viewing areas, gathering zones with tables and chairs, a central bar, concessions and televisions. The space will be accessible to all ticketed fans. The Orioles also plan to rent it for private events on non-game days.

The club says construction will begin immediately, with the space due to open by 2027 Opening Day. The Orioles said additional renovations in other parts of Camden Yards will be announced later this year.

“We’re extremely excited to begin these renovations and bring this space to life at Oriole Park. We’ve listened to our fans, who have expressed a desire for more social spaces that offer a vibrant atmosphere to gather, connect, and cheer on the O’s together. We’re confident this will quickly become a popular destination inside our gates next season.” – Catie Griggs, Orioles President, Business Operations
"By strategically reimagining existing spaces at Oriole Park at Camden Yards we are creating new game-day experiences while expanding opportunities for year-round business and community use. The Maryland Stadium Authority looks forward to our continued partnership with the Baltimore Orioles on these renovation projects and ensuring this iconic ballpark continues to serve fans, the community, and the State of Maryland for years to come.” – Lindsey V. Parker, Executive Director, Maryland Stadium Authority
