$20M Stateside Live! Expansion Unveiled in South Philadelphia Sports Complex

Reopening adds a concert-ready outdoor stage, a two-level rooftop bar, expanded VIP sections, and new hospitality zones as Stateside Live! is repositioned for game days, concerts, private events, and Philly's major 2026 event calendar.

Comcast Spectacor and The Cordish Companies will reopen Stateside Live! on May 29 following a $20M expansion that substantially broadens the property’s role inside the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. The redevelopment turns the longtime game-day destination into a larger indoor-outdoor entertainment venue designed to accommodate casual social traffic, large-scale concerts, watch parties, festivals, and private events.

The most significant addition is a rebuilt outdoor plaza anchored by a new , with capacity for up to 5,000 guests, including 1,000 premium seats. The stage will serve as the centerpiece for concerts, community events, and sports-viewing activations, giving the complex a more formalized live entertainment product beyond its traditional pregame and postgame role. Philly Mag reported that Comcast Spectacor has paused a separate music-venue concept while it prioritizes broader arena planning, making the outdoor stage an important near-term piece of the district’s entertainment strategy.

“As we look ahead to the future of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, the newly transformed Stateside Live! represents an important anchor for what’s next. Coming off the heels of a transformational renovation project at Xfinity Mobile Arena, this incredible sports and entertainment destination offers an exciting glimpse into the growth, innovation, and experiences we’re building for fans and the community.” – Dan Hilferty, Chairman and CEO, Comcast Spectacor

The hospitality mix is also being pushed further upscale with ,a new two-level rooftop bar overlooking the stadium district. The concept is built around daytime social gatherings, sunset cocktails, bottle service, and DJ-driven nightlife, with a menu that includes lobster rolls and braised short rib sliders. The rooftop gives Stateside Live! a more defined premium social product and introduces a viewpoint across the sports complex that had not previously been fully commercialized.

The expansion adds more differentiated VIP and social inventory at ground level as well. PBR Philly is nearly doubling in footprint through the addition of PBR Backyard, which will include an outdoor stage, dance floor and new VIP sections. A Blue Moon Beer Garden and Stateside Crush Bar add more open-air hospitality capacity and extend dwell time beyond the interior venue. The upgraded property is being positioned to handle everything from game-day overflow to nightlife programming and larger destination-style gatherings.

“More than 15 years ago, we made a commitment to invest in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex with the belief that it would evolve into one of the nation’s premier sports-anchored entertainment destinations. With this expansion, we’re introducing a new, hospitality-driven experience for fans, visitors, and the broader Philadelphia community that elevates how people come together to gather, celebrate, and connect.” – Reed Cordish, Principal, The Cordish Companies, and CEO, Live! Hospitality & Entertainment

Stateside Live! will continue to feature Chickie’s & Pete’s, Lorenzo’s Pizza, and Geno’s Steaks, while the expansion adds more food-and-beverage offerings and a new ordering technology platform designed to improve speed and convenience. That operational layer matters in a venue expected to serve both high-volume sports crowds and guests paying for more premium entertainment and hospitality experiences.

The timing is closely tied to a major stretch for South Philadelphia. Stateside Live! is reopening ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, two event windows expected to drive heavy visitor volume into the sports complex. The venue is also being marketed for private events ranging from 25 to 5,000 guests, with configurations spanning rooftop receptions to full-plaza buyouts, supported by its location next to Xfinity Mobile Arena and Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia

Grand opening weekend is designed to introduce the new venue as a live-events platform, not just a sports-adjacent hangout. The schedule includes a free May 29 concert featuring Taking Back Sunday, Mayday Parade and Bayside, followed by Two Friends on May 30 and the debut of Surfside Sundays on May 31. That opening sequence will be the first full test of how Stateside Live!’s expanded premium seating, rooftop hospitality, and concert infrastructure perform as part of a year-round entertainment business inside one of the country’s busiest sports districts.
